Honourable Chairman Sardar Tahir Sabir is a distinguished Pakistani jurist and seasoned judicial administrator who has rendered exemplary services in the field of justice, judicial administration and institutional development for over two decades. Throughout his distinguished career, he has earned recognition for his sound judicial approach, exceptional administrative capabilities, professional integrity and unwavering commitment to the supremacy of law and the fair administration of justice.
Honourable Chairman Sardar Tahir Sabir is a distinguished Pakistani jurist and seasoned judicial administrator. who has rendered exemplary services in the field of justice, judicial administration, and institutional development for over two decades. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has been widely acknowledged for his sound judicial approach, exceptional administrative capabilities, professional integrity, and steadfast dedication to the supremacy of law and fair administration of justice.
Honourable Chairman Sardar Tahir Sabir commenced his distinguished judicial career upon his induction into the Punjab Judicial Service as an Additional District & Sessions Judge on 20 May 2002. During his extensive tenure in the judiciary, he served with distinction in various districts of Punjab, including Lahore, Attock, Wazirabad, Islamabad, Muzaffargarh, and Jhelum.
In recognition of his professional competence, administrative acumen, and judicial excellence, he was entrusted with several key administrative assignments. He served as Additional Registrar/Member Inspection Team at the Islamabad High Court during 2008–2009 and later as Additional Registrar at the Lahore High Court, Bahawalpur Bench, during 2011–2012.
He was elevated as District & Sessions Judge in August 2012 and subsequently rendered services in multiple districts of Punjab, including Bahawalnagar, Chakwal, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Attock, Sheikhupura, and Jhelum. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in judicial administration and institutional management.
He also served as Member Inspection Team, Lahore High Court, in 2016, and thereafter performed responsibilities as District & Sessions Judge (HR), District Judiciary, Lahore High Court, in 2018 and again in 2020, contributing significantly towards judicial human resource management and institutional reforms.
In addition to his regular judicial assignments, he has served as Judge, Special Court Customs, Banking Court, and Special Court (Offences in Banks), Lahore, where he dealt with complex financial, banking, and customs-related litigation.
He was posted as Registrar, Islamabad High Court, Islamabad, with effect from 30 September 2022, where he served with remarkable professionalism, administrative excellence, and integrity while efficiently managing the affairs of the esteemed institution.
Thereafter, he assumed charge as Member, National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC), on 06 November 2025. In recognition of his vast judicial experience and distinguished professional standing, he was subsequently entrusted with the office of Chairman, National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC), and assumed charge of the said office on 18 May 2026.
